For Morla: On Design, Leslie worked closely with the fabled San Francisco graphic designer Jennifer Morla, to help shape and edit Morla’s lush stories of her dynamic career in art and design. A talented writer, the collaboration flowed across structural questions of balancing stories and projects, as well as editing to amplify detail in compact text blocks. Morla’s client list includes ubiquitous West Coast brands including Levis, Wells Fargo, Stanford University, and the Mexican Museum. The book includes dozens of personal stories and “designisms,” and 158 project descriptions.
See For Yourself, Rob Forbes, (Chronicle Books)
Rob Forbes is perhaps best known for bringing affordable, high-quality mid-century designs to the public through his firm Design Within Reach. But Forbes is also a potter and a photographer and his enthusiasm for finding beauty in the everyday is the subject of his book, See For Yourself (Chronicle Books.) Leslie collaborated closely with Rob, taking his rough manuscript and honing it, line by line, into a book of focused, lyrical discussions of his many travels and his love of patterns in the markets and streets of the world.
